Daily Tarot January 13, 2014

Greetings everyone! Today I am using Ciro Marchetti’s Legacy Tarot. The illustrations are captivating and mysterious. Absolutely gorgeous! Enjoy!

Today we begin with the Eight of Swords.

Traditionally, this card is about being restricted and feeling trapped. What I like about this card is the imagery of the spider web. The woman struggles, perhaps in a web of her own making, whether it be a web of lies and deceit or being restricted by her own thoughts. As it is with a web, the more we struggle, the more entangled we become. In this card, the swords, that initially look threatening, may actually be her salvation as they can cut through the web. In order to do this however, she must stop struggling, she must be still and quiet.

Next we have the Hermit, we saw him on Friday as well. This Hermit is tired and world weary, his retreat isn’t just for rest and relaxation but for rigorous inner work. It’s been a long hard journey.

The last card we have is the Page of Wands. Pages indicate newness, messages, the beginnings of something. They are also advice in a way to bring certain types of energy into your life.

It looks like this is a continuation of Friday’s reading. There is a great deal of inner work being done, and possibly it’s time to take a break from all that intensity. The Hermit and the Page are both holding wands of light. One is bright and cold and the other is warm. One is the light of intellect and knowledge and the other is the heat of creativity and passion. In the Eight of Swords, you will also note that there is a light behind the woman, that indicates hope of release and freedom.

It’s time to come out of your head. Find that creative spark that still lives within you and light a fire! Burn away the cobwebs, get moving, get active, get physical, get out in the world! Find a new creative project that stirs your passions!

In short, it’s time to break those self-imposed bonds, come out of your cave now and into the light.

  1. Wow. An absolutely gorgeous deck full of mystery and layers of meaning.

After an hour of body flow, I feel like the world weary hermit. Ah, but maybe I’ll be reincarnated as a spider.

I love this deck. The eight of swords is my stalker tarot card. It is often difficult to see you own restricted thought patterns. But some Hermit time can change a lot for the better 🙂
