Daily Tarot January 7, 2014

Greetings everyone! I hope all of you had a wonderful holiday! Time to get back into routine!

Today looks like a big day, and possibly not very pleasant. We have the Eight of Wands,

8-wandsll

followed by the Tower

and the Page of Cups.

The Eight of Wands is about quick action and communication. Be prepared to receive some news today. Because this is a page of cups, it just may be some news about a child. The Tower indicates sudden change. Whatever this news is it will cause a great deal of upheaval. When the Tower shows up we can expect everything to change, this news will bring a sudden insight, a flash of truth, or a downfall, or sudden turn for the worse. Putting the Eight and the Tower together says this is happening very fast. Suddenly all the pieces of the puzzle fit and the walls come tumbling down! I threw another card on top and that is the Queen of Cups.

When you receive this news, try to react with an open and loving heart.  (This is indicated with the pages of cups also.) In both the Queen and the Page, you can see that they are stable either standing on a rock or sitting on a heavy throne while the waters churn all about. When big change happens, try to be that rock of stability in the storm. Keep in mind that although the Tower looks bad, it’s often about bringing down the walls of illusion. It’s  hard at the time but ultimately it’s for the best.

Good luck!

  1. Wow. That tower card artwork is magnificent. Is it from the same deck (missing its border)?

In Rusty’s tarot world, the Queen of Cups represents the Lady of the Lake. Imagistically fits with the tower artwork.

  2. Does it give any indication where it’s from? Atlantis, maybe?

  3. That’s the lake in Return from Avalon (and Points West) where Vivian walks underwater and comes back with the sword. Oooh,
