Daily Tarot for November 13, 2013

Greetings all!

Today we have a reading that is about perseverance.  First we have the Nine of Wands, which is a card specifically about that.

9-wandsll

It’s about taking a beating and coming back for more because we do what has to be done. (Takes a lickin and keeps on tickin!) No matter what it is that has happened, we must find the strength to carry on even though you may feel like running away as seen in the Seven of Swords.

7-swordsll

The Ace of Pentacles is about groundedness, security, and trust.  It can also be about having a support system and having faith in others.

1-pentll

Whatever this situation is, whether it is emotional, physical or financial, have faith in yourself first, you can handle it, running away is not the answer. Hold fast, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and keep putting one foot in front of the other. Keep moving from a place of faith that all will be well.  Help and support will be there when you need it.

  1. I used to think running away was never the answer. Now I realize that it occasionally is. Ah, the wisdom of age. Too bad you have to get old to have it.

Is the Nine of Wands symbolic of perseverance because that’s how many lives a cat has? Get whacked enough to kill a cat? Sounds like a new urban expression. “Bro, if you do that again I’m gonna go all Nine of Wands on you.”

You are right, sometimes you have to know when to retreat, but today is not that day, that’s what the Nine of Wands is about , especially when paired with the seven of swords. If it were paired with a four of swords or a nine of swords I might suggest that it’s time to concede defeat. In this case, this reading is about having faith in yourself and having faith in others and in life itself because even if it’s bad, life has more gifts to give you… seen in the hand that is holding out the pentacle.

That’s an interesting observation about the cat actually, the symbolism of the number nine with regards to nearing a completion may actually help shed some light on that particular saying…. contemplation worthy topic.
