Daily Tarot for September 16, 2013

lltemperance (1)

Good Morning all!

Today I’ll be drawing a card from my brand new, beautiful Llewellyn Deck. The Llewellyn Deck was created by Anna Marie Ferguson who is also the creator of the Legend: Arthurian Tarot. Anna Marie named this deck after Llewellyn George, who is the founder of Llewellyn Publishing. The Major Arcana is inspired by the Welsh Mabinogion, the mythological tales which also include what are some of the oldest versions of the King Arthur stories, as well as other various Welsh stories and legends.

Today our card is Temperance. Temperance is a card of balance. Unlike Justice however, this is a card that takes emotions and feelings into account and bringing harmony to a situation. Today is a day to bring some balance back into your world. If you’ve been overdoing things, today you need to create a more harmonious environment which is beneficial to mental, spiritual and emotional health.

Temperance is a card of balancing between two worlds. It often depicts an angel with one foot in the water and the other on land. On the physical, this indicates an ability to bring harmony between opposing forces, ideas, or people. On a spiritual level this symbolizing the balancing between worlds, such as having “an angel watching over you”. Listen to the little voice inside, someone may have a message for you.

  1. We need a new name for temperance. Reminds me too much of angry women with hatchets chopping into barrels of whiskey. Although I can’t see the woman on this card doing such a desecration.

  2. I have a Legend: Arthurian tarot deck, by the way.
