Daily Tarot for August 20, 2013

Today’s card is the Knight of Pentacles. This is Aristaeus who is the son of Apollo by a mortal woman. He was cared for as an infant by the Earth Mother.  He was taught many earthy skills such as cheese making, bee keeping and he tends the Olive groves for the Dryads. He was also taught the art of healing by the Muses and was given the task of Shepard to their flocks.

When a knight appears it usually means “action” that you need to make a move to one direction or another dependent upon the suit of the card. In the case of the Knight of Pentacles, he is Mr. Reliable. He is steadfast, hardworking, earthy, and dependable. He is the proverbial “slow and steady wins the race” kind of guy.  So, if your life has been busy and hectic, or if you are the kind of person who is usually busy to the point of exhaustion, the appearance of the Knight of Pentacles at this time is a suggestion that it’s time for you to slow down a bit. If you were preparing to run headlong into some kind of business dealings, or make a big move financially, you might want to stop and breathe and consider your decision more carefully. Taking bold risks are fine as long as they are calculated and not reckless. Be cautious and read the fine print thoroughly before you sign on the dotted line.

If however, you have found lately that you are stuck in a rut, or have been cautious to the point of being stodgy, you need to lighten up a little bit. As I said above, risks are ok when calculated. If you’ve been pigheaded and stubborn about something or always looking at the world as if your glass is half empty, it’s time for you to get out and live a little. Get a different point of view. If you’ve been working too hard and not taking time out for play, not only will you lose perspective on life you will possibly lose friends too.

If you have been one way, now is the time to move the other way. As for me, I vote for the slowing down bit! Have a great day everyone!

  1. Wait, wait. Your knight in shining armor shows up and he teaches you how to make cheese? That’s just so wrong on so many levels.

LOL! If you are looking for the classic “knight in shining armor” archetype, it’s the Knight of Wands you are looking for, but if you want a good stable guy to settle down with a guy who likes to cook is definitely a plus! … and I LOVE cheese! LOL!

Love the Tarot Deck! I have a strange question for you, I noticed you have related articles at the bottom of your blog. I’m new to blogging have no idea how to do that. any advice would be welcome 🙂

Glad you are enjoying it Victoria! Actually it’s very simple to add related articles from other blogs. When you go to Dashboard, and use New Post, if you scroll down to the bottom of the page on the right hand side there is a section for you to choose tags, available photos, and there is also a list of blog entries that have similar or related topics to your own. If you move your cursor over them they let you preview them a bit before you choose. (It’s a good idea to actually visit the blog and look fist too and you can do that from that area, you can click on the link in the preview. Sometimes the title looks like it’s related and then you might find stuff in there that isn’t what you want to promote at all!)

      Hope that helps!
