Today’s card is the Knight of Pentacles. This is Aristaeus who is the son of Apollo by a mortal woman. He was cared for as an infant by the Earth Mother. He was taught many earthy skills such as cheese making, bee keeping and he tends the Olive groves for the Dryads. He was also taught the art of healing by the Muses and was given the task of Shepard to their flocks.
When a knight appears it usually means “action” that you need to make a move to one direction or another dependent upon the suit of the card. In the case of the Knight of Pentacles, he is Mr. Reliable. He is steadfast, hardworking, earthy, and dependable. He is the proverbial “slow and steady wins the race” kind of guy. So, if your life has been busy and hectic, or if you are the kind of person who is usually busy to the point of exhaustion, the appearance of the Knight of Pentacles at this time is a suggestion that it’s time for you to slow down a bit. If you were preparing to run headlong into some kind of business dealings, or make a big move financially, you might want to stop and breathe and consider your decision more carefully. Taking bold risks are fine as long as they are calculated and not reckless. Be cautious and read the fine print thoroughly before you sign on the dotted line.
If however, you have found lately that you are stuck in a rut, or have been cautious to the point of being stodgy, you need to lighten up a little bit. As I said above, risks are ok when calculated. If you’ve been pigheaded and stubborn about something or always looking at the world as if your glass is half empty, it’s time for you to get out and live a little. Get a different point of view. If you’ve been working too hard and not taking time out for play, not only will you lose perspective on life you will possibly lose friends too.
If you have been one way, now is the time to move the other way. As for me, I vote for the slowing down bit! Have a great day everyone!
